Free Illustrated Lecture
Monday night Oct 17, Impossible Urban Illustration
Free illustrated lecture. The NYC department of finance -- which, as the main assessor, is in a position to know -- estimates there are more than 900,000 buildings in New York. James Gulliver Hancock, an illustrator from Sydney, Australia, plans to draw them all. That may sound like idle boasting, but, with more than 600 under his belt so far, Mr. HAncock is demonstrating a fighting spirit. Come join him for a brief taste of his work so far, and a discussion of why, indeed, someone might wish to take on the most intimidating built environment on Earth, with just a pen and some paper.
Peteʼs Candy Store, 709 Lorimer Street, Brooklyn, 7:30p; $free
